But this brand new 2017 SCR950 looks like a decent deal when it’s 30%, and probably could be lowballed further. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!  He says, not having a motorcycle license.

I saw one of those on fb market place recently for a similar deal.

I love the look of it. But I’m not where near considering spending 5  grand on a bike.

Me neither. But it’s enticing.

honestly? It wouldn’t be the worst.

they are SO under powered for the size...its a 950 that makes less then 50HP.

The worst part about it would be the hit you’d have to take when it comes time to sell.

Exactly my thought. Did nobody buy these? Several in my area as low as 5000 usd.

Depending on how long I’d hold onto it for, eh.

Yeah these weren’t exactly hot sellers when new, and now 3 years later they are selling them at a loss just to get them out of the showroom.

Our loss could be your loss too!

I look at it this way. It’s a far better bike to get into the v-twin scene than a Harley.

I wouldn’t call them under powered. They are just a casual cruiser. It slots between the Harley 883 and 1200. Also just a few hp shy of the last Triumph Bonneville.

Find a used XSR700 instead.

Honestly, I’d look for an FZ-07 if you’re comfortable with a bigger bike, or find a ninja 300 on fire sale for a great first bike on the cheap.

But the S CR isn’t the *worst*. Fortnine did a good review of it that was quite glowing. So it’s not like there aren’t high points, it just doesn’t check the right boxes.

My current plan is:

1) Sell Fiesta for Outback

2) Buy a motorcycle

So I have no idea how comfortable I am on bikes. 300cc snowmobiles are no issue, though.

I bought one 2 years ago for $6k American money, brand new after they announced it was gonna be a 1 year only model. It's fairly heavy. It looks more like a scrambler than acts like one. Scrapes the pegs fairly easily. Overall a decent lower speed ride, but doesn't do anything great.

I know Peter might beat m e t o this - but snowmobiles are not ridden on public roads in traffic. Not really the same.

True. But, there’s also no traffic out here.

If that’s the sort of bike you are into, then it would actually be a good first bike.

Others have mentioned the xsr700 is a sportier option, but this is a good laid back option.

I have always seen these as sort of the option between a Harley and a naked bike. I actually like them a lot, though I wish they were considerably lighter.
